CYBER SENIORS

Is an intergenerational program where both the young and the not so young learn from each other.  The 4th grade class teacher, in the schools that we collaborate with, teach computer basics to the adults in the class and the children tutor the adults.

The children must learn patience and not do everything for the adults.  Their vocabulary has to make sense to older adults and they may encounter challenges if they don't speak loud enough or if the adults decipher what the teacher or children are trying to tell them about the computer.

The adults learn why the kids have so much fun on the computers, as well as, how to write and send e-mails, how to create and delete information in a document.  By the end of the 12-week class, they will know how to change fonts, change colors, and in some instances, how to e-mail a picture to their family.
